Dubshed – Nothern Irelands Show season opener! but for this year with the sad ending of Ultimate Dubs in England for many Dubshed was season opener for most! This year seen alot of different cars coming from all over the UK to the show, with many “new” cars turning up making judging and even application acceptance a likely nightmare. Dubshed has grown from a small shed at the Kings hall in belfast, to a 2 day spectical at the Eikon Exibition centre in Lisburn, spanning both the Eikon Building and the Logan Hall, starting as a German based show , but as the scenes have changed, as has Dubshed, with the Iconic Eikon building being the “German” Hall, and the Logan hall open to everything else there is something for everyone. Vintage, Classic JDM, Bikes, Supercars, mixed with outdoor entries, and drift taxi outside theres quite a bit to see and do.
Indoor was these 2 iconic Porsche and BMW, both leaving with trophies on the day. Being a VW routes show everyone assumes its a VW to win, but this year car of the show was a restored Rally spec Ford Escort! the attention to detail and fit and finish was above and beyond. Drift games as always their in great attendance in the Logan hall displaying their latest builds the Honda NSX and RX7 parked under their massive rig. Being season opener many peoples cars where underwraps, and revealed at the show, my own personal TTRS is one of many cars taking this route, with very few knowing what they were going to see on the day, and even for us many other surprises where on display.
One of our personal favourites was this Max Power Era Mk4 Astra, one of many Max Power Cars on display, But this one back when i was 17 years old was a big “NI Feature car” being the cover car from Modified Motors Magazine back in the day, it was something i would have looked upto in my early years, and to see it many years later still looking great!
As much as its season opener we look forward to Dubshed 2027, to see what people build over the winter months.
